Nexus Program
The Nexus Program delivers tailored services to meet individual needs and preferences, empowering participants to expand their abilities and engage comfortably in community spaces. Emphasizing both support and a thriving environment, WTC ensures each participant finds their niche in activities like Contributing, Community, and Center (arts, crafts, education technology). Expect to spend an average of 6 hours per scheduled day in community or center activities. Our Nexus program is provided from both our Nexus Chico and Nexus Oroville locations.

The Nexus computer lab helps clients develop and improve their tech skills. With various programs and software, it’s a valuable resource for both beginners and those looking to enhance their abilities.
Community Activities
Community integration at Nexus is shaped by client input, focusing on person-centered activities. Outings in Butte County and Oroville include visiting parks, museums, and local spots, with occasional joint activities between Nexus Chico and Oroville.
Contributing Activities
Clients can explore various volunteer opportunities that align with their interests, with the support of Direct Support Professionals and community mapping. These opportunities allow clients to give back to their community in meaningful ways, whether through local organizations, events, or causes. Volunteering helps clients build connections and gain valuable experience while contributing to the community.

Nexus Program Requirements
The Nexus program offers personal support in the community and within the program itself. It’s about providing individuals with the best choices to make informed decisions. They get to control their choices and participate in activities. The primary goal is to help individuals learn new skills and gain confidence, leading to more independence in the community.
Requirements: To enroll in the Nexus Program, individuals must meet the following criteria:
To enroll in the Nexus program, individuals must meet specific criteria: they must be 18 years of age or older, capable of independent mobility (ambulatory), able to manage personal daily activities without assistance (Activities of Daily Living or ADLs), capable of self-administering necessary medications, able to function well in group settings with a staff ratio of at least one to four clients and commit to attending the program according to the schedule.
